Joanna McCarthy is an editorial, fine art and stock photographer who lives in Sagaponack, Long Island, and specializes in people, nature and landscapes. Her award-winning photographs have appeared in numerous magazines, including Forbes, Outside, Zoom, Popular Photography, and New York, and her clients include Nikon, the Sierra Club, Dreyfus, Avanti Press, Holland American Cruise Lines, and many others.
In 1987 she was a guest of honor at the Kentucky Derby, as the first place winner of a photography contest jointly sponsored by Nikon. Her work was exhibited at the Elaine Benson Gallery in Bridgehampton, New York in the summer of 1992, and a review of the show appeared in the New York Times. Other exhibits have included Nikon House in New York City in April of 1994, the Coach Gallery in Easthampton in the Summer of 1996, and the Belenky Gallery in New York City in the Spring of 1998.
She has been a member of The Image Bank stock agency for the past 15 years, and has received numerous awards including the Nikon International Photo Contest, Communication Arts, and the New York Art Director's Club.
